City Lights & Urban Heights

This shoot was all about high energy, cool contrasts, and that perfect mix of retro and modern. I teamed up with Kam from Manchester modelling agency Vauhaus, and we headed to Leeds City Centre to shoot a fashion series.

Armed with my new flash gun to experiment with, I wanted to achieve high-key lighting against the moody, sparkly city backdrop. We shot in a multi-storey car park, where the bright colours, metallic ceilings, and industrial railings created the perfect setting for Kam’s modern, edgy styling. The result? A set of images that feel like they belong on my 2016 Tumblr feed!

I love how the flash brought a futuristic punch to the shots, making the outfits pop against the dark background. There’s a real contrast between Kam’s ‘cool girl’ vibe and the raw, urban surroundings, giving the images that cool, nostalgic aesthetic.
